Digital Dryad – Draft Complete!
I’m pleased to announce that my first draft of Digital Dryad is now complete. Sierra’s first story is nearly ready for people to read. I’m working on revising it with a goal of having it out to beta readers by November.
Sierra is a dryad who lives in a small town in Washington state on the edge of a large forest with her mother Leticia, Grandmother Oak, her cousin Diana, and other sisters, cousins, and dryad grove-members. Sierra grew up expecting to bond with a tree like all her fellow dryads. But when she bonds with a digital tree rather than a wood-and-sap tree Leticia can’t cope and throws her out of the grove. Sierra has to save the grove from a fire that starts in the digital world and spreads to the real one and convince her mother that computers can co-exist with nature.
Next Novel – High Fantasy
I haven’t decided on a title yet, but the main character is an elf who was cursed from birth to find the origins of a mystical stone. Before she knew of the curse, she studied to be a druid and spent most of her time in the forest learning the habits of various animals. A golden raven accompanies her on her journey and in her travels she becomes friends with a pacifist stone dwarf.
As seen in Barnes and Noble:
I have to admit, even after all these years it’s still a thrill to see my name on a book in the bookstore. And this one is thick! And what’s even better, I didn’t face it out on the shelf, it was like that when I wandered down the aisle.
